Dr. Sangeeth K.P
Principal
He completed his PhD in Applied Botany from Mangalore University and MSc Microbiology from Dept of Life Science, Kannur University. He has more than 15 years of experience in research and teaching different core subjects of microbiology. He started his career as a lecturer in microbiology at Sree Narayana College, Kannur. He served as Senior Research Fellow at Indian Institute of Spices Research in a prestigious Network project on organic farming funded by ICAR. He obtained his doctorate degree for the development and formulation of novel bio fertilizer strains. He also worked as Technical officer laboratory at School of Biological Sciences, Central University of Kerala. He has 11 publications in national and international level to his credit. Attended national and international seminars and conferences that provided insights into the field of microbiology. He is a recipient of J.S.Pruthi award for best research paper for the year 2012.
Dr. Dileepkumar R
Dept. of Biotechnology
An academic entrepreneur, with over 15 years of research and development experience in the field of Biotechnology, including Snake Venomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, healthcare diagnostics, and Bioenergy sectors. Track record of more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals, patents, book chapters, and authored books in the area of biotechnology, toxicology and snakes. Earned graduation (University of Kerala) and post-graduation (Pondicherry Central University) in the area of Biotechnology. Completed the Ph.D. and Post-Doctoral work (University of Kerala) in the area of toxicology and snake venom diagnostics. Personal interests include fieldwork, photography, as well as travelling and camping.

Muhsina P V
Department of Biochemistry
Muhsina P V is an Assistant professor in Biochemistry at MVR Institute of life Science and Research Studies. She studied her B.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry from Sir Syed Institute for Technical studies (Kannur University). Then she completed her Post graduation in Biochemistry from RVS College of Arts and Science , Coimbatore ( Bharathiar university ). She done project on ‘Study on Blood Glucose level in Diabetic patients’ during B.Sc. And formulated ‘ Organic Lip balm ‘ during M.Sc. She also completed the course on ‘Microbiological and Chemical analysis of food and water with Advanced Instrumentation techniques’.
Anusree Ashok
Dept. of Forestry
Anusree Ashok is an Assistant Professor in Forestry at MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Forestry and Wood Technology from Sir Syed College (Kannur University) and a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from Bharathiar University, where she ranked second in her program. During her internship at ICFRE-IFGTB (Coimbatore), she focused on spatial mapping in plantation forestry and invasive species assessment using remote sensing and GIS technologies. She has also been actively involved as a volunteer with the CDD Society (Bengaluru) contributing to social and environmental initiatives. Her qualifications include successfully qualifying the UGC NET (Assistant Professor) examination in Environmental Sciences and completing a certificate course on Remote Sensing and GIS applications in carbon forestry from ISRO-IIRS (Dehradun). As a research fellow in the Remote Sensing Lab at ISRO-IIST (Trivandrum), she conducted research on spatial analysis and satellite data classification, with a particular focus on field margin vegetation dynamics in various areas. She has received IQAC Talent Award in 2012 and Swami Vivekananda Young Achievement Award in 2017.
Dr.Jisha.M
Dept. of Chemistry
Dr. Jisha M completed her MSc in Chemistry from Maharaja College for Women, Perundurai, Tamilnadu (Bharatiyar University, 2005) and holds a PhD in Chemistry from Sir Syed College, Taliparamba (Kannur University). Her research focused on the phytochemistry of selected plants in North Kerala, studying their antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticorrosion activities. She has published 8 research papers in renowned international and national journals. With 8 years of teaching experience at the graduate level, she served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at Devamatha College, Kannur (Kannur University), and later at Sir Syed Institute of Technical Studies, Taliparamba (Kannur University). Dr. Jisha M has presented papers at prestigious conferences like the Indian Science Congress and Kerala Science Congress, demonstrating her specific interest in the phytochemical activities of the flora in North Kerala

She has a varied overall exposure of 15 years in the educational industry and 8 years experience in teaching. She started her career with administrative jobs but her love towards teaching brought her to academics. She is a dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social as well as academic growth and development of each and every student. As a part of this she has been conducting coaching classes for various competitive exams teaming up with leading institutions to help students to accomplish a secured career.
After graduating in English from Payyanur College,she completed her Post Graduation in English Literature from Annamalai University. She has also secured a Post Graduate Diploma in Co-operative Management from the prestigious Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM) under National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT).

Avishna A
Dept. of Forestry
Avishna A is an Assistant Professor in Department of Forestry at MVR Institute of Life science and Research Studies. She pursued MSc Ecology and Environmental Science from Pondicherry University. During her internship at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, she has supported field work and data collection involving quantification of vegetation for the project entitled “Development of Landscape Management Plan and Monitoring with reference to Ken-Betwa River Linking Project in Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh”. She has also been actively involved as a volunteer with CCMB (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology), Hyderabad for field work and data collection involving quantification of vegetation for tree carbon sequestration. She holds a BSc degree in Forestry from Sir Syed College (Kannur University) where she ranked third in her program.
Ramesan K P

Has worked in several institutions, including as lecturer in Malayalam nine years at MIC Arts and science college Chattanchal, Kasaragod. Later Associate professor and Head of the Department of Malayalam 13 years at Peoples Co. Op. Arts and science college munnad, Kasaragod and the same time worked as Assistant professor (Part-time)in Malayalam at Kannur University and Calicut University SDE – UG/PG wing.Presently working as the Accademic counselor in Malayalam at Sree Narayana Guru Open University, Thalassery Regional center.

Dr Vidya K P completed M A in Hindi from Pondicherry Central University, Puducherry in 2012. She holds Ph D in Hindi from Kannur University,2021. She had published 4 research papers and also presented papers in National and international seminars. She started her teaching career as an assistant professor and Head of the Department of Hindi at Pilathara Arts and Science college, Pilathara, and later at Payyanur College, Payyanur.
Sandhya Mohanan

Sandhya mohanan is an assistant professor in Malayalam at M V R Institute of Life science and Research Studies. She completed M A Malayalam in 2014 from Sree Shankaracharya University Regional Center Payyanur. She has four articles in published reputed journals. She has attended many National and international seminars. She has keen interest in Floklore studies; presently she is pursuing in doctoral studies in the topic ” Transnational migration of theyyam local historical clues”
Dr.Anju M V

Dr. Anju M V is an Assistant Professor in Zoology at MVR Institute of Life science and Research Studies. She completed her Ph.D. in Marine Biotechnology from Department of Marine Biology, Cochin University of Science and Technology. She is an expertise in the field of Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. She has published nineteen publications in International journals and presented papers in more than thirty national and international conference. She was awarded prestigious DST-INSPIRE fellowship for her doctoral programme by Department of Science and Technology, India. She holds a BSc degree in Zoology from Sir Syed College (Kannur University) and she was the topper of the batch. Dr.Anju completed MSC in Marine Biology from Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
Dr. Suchithra P
Department of Plant Science
Dr. Suchithra P serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Science at MVR Institute of Life Sciences, Kannur, Kerala, India. She holds a Ph.D. in Bioprocess Technology from the Department of Plant Science, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod. Her research focuses on bioenergy, particularly the production of biofuels from lignocellulosic biomass, and the exploration of plant cell wall polymers for the development of value-added products. She has made significant contributions to her field, evidenced by her publications in peer-reviewed journals and her presentations at various national and international conferences. She possesses a strong background in biochemistry and plant physiology. She received the UGC-JRF award and qualified ICAR-NET examination. Her academic credentials also include a master’s degree from the Central University of Kerala and a Bachelor of Science in Botany from Payyanur College (Kannur University). She is passionate about scientific writing, reading, and teaching, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge in her field.
Neethu P
Department of Plant Science
Neethu P serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Science at MVR Institute of Life Sciences, Kannur, Kerala, India. She submitted her Ph.D. thesis focused on the Study on Bryophyte Diversity in Kannur District of Kerala and has a strong academic background, including securing 2nd rank in her M.Sc. in Botany from Kannur University in 2015 and qualifying the CSIR-JRF NET exam in June 2016 with a 42nd rank. Her research primarily revolves around bryology, plant taxonomy, biodiversity conservation, and ecology with significant contributions evidenced by her publications in peer-reviewed, national and international journals and her presentations at various conferences. Notably, she received the Best Paper Presentation Award at the International Conference on Advanced Biology in 2022. Professionally, she has experience as a Guest Lecturer in Botany at Government College Kasaragod and as a Skill Development Executive for the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme Kerala (ASAP). Passionate about scientific writing, teaching, and reading, Neethu has dedicated herself to advancing knowledge in her field, inspiring students and peers alike with her expertise and commitment to plant science and biodiversity conservation.
Dr. Shimna Keloth
Department of Microbiology
Dr. Shimna Keloth is an Assistant Professor in Microbiology at MVR Institute of Life science and Research Studies. She completed her Ph.D. in Life Science from the Division of Crop production and PHT of ICAR- Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode. Her research focused on the nutraceutical properties of different Cinnamomum species in India, studying their antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic activities. She was awarded prestigious DSTINSPIRE fellowship for her doctoral programme by Department of Science and Technology, India. She is an expertise in the field of Microbiology, Phytochemistry and nutraceuticals. She has 2 publications in national and international level to her credit. She also worked as a Technical Assistant at School of Health sciences, Kannur University. She pursued her M.Sc. in Microbiology from Sir Syed Institute for Technical studies (Kannur University) where she secured the first Rank within her program. She has presented papers in various national and international conferences
Fathimath Zahra

Fathimath Zahra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry. She completed her B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies (Kannur University), securing second rank in her program. She earned her M.Sc. in Biochemistry with distinction from the Central University of Kerala. Her postgraduate research focused on the “Comparative effect of CuS and ZnS nanoparticle conjugates of Cisplatin and Carboplatin on the expression level of ATP7B” highlighting her interest in nanomedicine,drug transport mechanism and cancer therapeutics. She has professional experience as an ESG Data Analyst and Reviewer Selection Editor at Straive Data Platform, where she supported the peer review process for Taylor and Francis journals. She also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies, Taliparamba.
VYSHNAV SASI K
Department of Forestry
Vyshnav Sasi K is an Assistant Professor in Department of Forestry at MVR Institute of Life science and Research Studies. He completed his MSc on wildlife biology from AVC College, Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. He has worked on butterflies during his internship period and the topic entitled Diversity of butterfly species in three different sacred groves of Kannur district,Kerala .He has done his project on , Assessing electrocution mortality of Asian elephant in Sathyamangalam and Coimbatore forest division’ under WWF. He has participated in the ‘Ecological festival of Western Ghats’, a national conference conducted by save Western Ghats movement at Sri Krishna arts and science college, Coimbatore .Also he has been part of Tiger census at Malayattur division Trissur Kerala and Annual bird census at Point calimere ,Tamilnadu .He holds a BSc degree in Forestry from Sir Syed College (Kannur University) .During his UG ,he was part of CESAC(centre for environmental solution and consultancy ) as field assistant.
Dr. Aparna R S
Department of Biotechnology
Dr. Aparna R. S. completed her B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women (Kannur University) with distinction. She earned her M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women (Bangalore University) and her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Kozhikode (Calicut University). Her doctoral research focused on the identification and characterization of MYB transcription factors involved in curcumin biosynthesis in Curcuma longa L. She has extensive research experience, including her tenure as a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Plant Science, Central University of Kerala. There, she worked on rhizobacterial-induced epigenetic changes in plants. With a strong passion for teaching and research, Dr. Aparna has served as an Assistant Professor at Sir Syed Institute for Technical Studies, Kannur University (2022). Her expertise lies in molecular cloning, transcriptome data analysis, advanced biotechnological methods like Agrobacteriummediated transformation, and molecular docking. Dr. Aparna has published multiple research papers in reputed national and international journals, with key contributions to the fields of plant molecular biology and curcumin biosynthesis. She has also presented her findings at prestigious conferences, including the 23rd Plantation Crops Symposium and the International Symposium on Spices and Aromatic Crops. Her academic achievements include clearing National level teaching and research eligibility examinations such as CSIR NET-JRF, DBT JRF BET, GATE (Biotechnology), and ARS NET. She is a lifetime member of the Kerala Academy of Sciences (KAS). She has actively participated in workshops and training programs, including next-generation sequencing data analysis and in-silico drug development. Dr. Aparna is committed to nurturing young scientific minds while advancing her research on plant molecular biology, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture

Arya P V, guest faculty in Department of Biotechnology at MVR institute of Life science and Research Studies. She completed her B.Sc. Degree in Biotechnology from Sir Syed Institute for Technical studies (Kannur University) with the distinction. Subsequently, she pursued her M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Sir Syed Institute for Technical studies (Kannur University) where she secured third Rank within her program. Her project work focussed on plant molecular biology titled : ‘Morphological, Biochemical And Molecular Changes in Amaranthus tricolor Due To Temperature Stress’. She has successfully secured level 3 Award in HACCP for Food manufacturing. Gained exposure to cutting-edge research and technologies in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology fields under DBT Skill Vigyan Kerala.
Ruheena T V
Department of Forestry
Ruheena T. V. is an Assistant Professor in Department of Forestry at MVR Institute of Life Science and Research Studies. She holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Science and a B.Sc. in Forestry and Wood Technology both from Kannur University, where she secured 3rd rank in her respective programs. Her academic achievements also include qualifying for both the UGC NET and ICAR-ASRB NET examinations. She has served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Environmental Studies, Kannur University, and as Faculty for Talent Development and Foundation Courses at the Kerala State Civil Service Academy. During her tenure as a Project Fellow at the Society for Environmental Education (SEEK), she prepared and updated the People’s Biodiversity Register for Kannur and Kasaragod districts, documenting the biodiversity of these regions comprehensively. Ruheena completed an internship at the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), where she has done notable projects include developing a high-resolution wetland database for Mannarkkad Taluk, Kerala. She has also studied the species diversity and floristic patterns in home gardens in Kannur during her B.Sc.
