Study Tour to Nilambur

41 students from the Department of Biotechnology, Microbiology, Forestry, Plant Science and Biochemistry and 8 faculties from the MVRILSRS were attended for the two day trip that took place on November 11th and 12th 2023. It proved to be a great success due to the enthusiastic input from students and faculties and the continuing support of the management of MVRILSRS. The purpose of this educational trip was to provide an interactive session with Nilambur Ayisha the so-called ‘Keralathinte Veeraputhri’. ‘Courageous act’ the prescribed article in the English text book gave a detailed picture of Nilambur Ayisha to the students and the curiosity about her raised to touch in contact with her. At 88, Ayisha retains the fire within and the students focused on intrinsic motivation. Students presented a portrait as a token of love to her.

Connolly’s plot, ecotourism center, the original teak plantation and Butterfly garden gave a panoramic view. Nilambur Teak museum operated by Kerala Forest Research Institute. The visit to the museum provides extensive information of Teak and their exhibits historically, artistically and scientifically.
